Our Mission

  The mission of the Coalition for Equitable Community Development is to convene residents, faith-based communities, civic, educational, and social organizations, and the business community in planning, guiding, and monitoring housing and related activities that will support the maintenance of an economically and racially diverse community in Hyde Park and Kenwood.

Our Members

 

The Coalition for Equitable Community Development (CECD) is a membership organization consisting of individuals, organizations, congregations, and businesses that live or do business in Hyde Park and Kenwood.

If you live or work in Hyde Park-Kenwood, you can become a member. Just download the membership application and send it in with your membership dues. I.O.C. meets with Older Women’s League to plan a public forum on affordable housing

April 29, 2006

Forum on the Future of Affordable Housing in Hyde Park held at First Unitarian Church – A Task Force is created to recommend future action

August 23, 2006

Task Force holds its first meeting

May 19, 2007

Housing Summit to hear recommendations of Task Force: A new coalition to be created

June 20, 2007

Steering Committee holds first meeting to form new coalition

December 5, 2007 Coalition for Equitable Community Development is launched at a community convention held at the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club. Links to our meetings and actions since are in the homepage.

 

Since has engaged in negotiation and collaboration and forums on many issues, has itss own bank account and is getting its own 501.
